John Wayne said, "A man's got to have a code, a creed to live by, no matter his job." Every Apogee program, every Apogee member, every Apogee family agrees to honor our code and live it out to the fullest. We agree to be leaders in our families and our communities. Our code is our operating system. It describes the way we behave, the way we engage, and the way we present ourselves in every situation. It is by this code that we lay the foundation for our learners to build characters of strength, humility, and sovereignty.
We stand with Socrates. "Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel." Once a vessel is filled, the material is stagnant and is no longer in use. If a person is filled with information and knowledge only for it to become stagnant, then the education is no longer valuable. Kindling on the other hand, is anything that serves as a catalyst or spark. A flame is ignited and stays lit by consuming resource after resource, growing with unlimited potential. We believe in an education that ignites a love of learning that grows stronger as a person reaches for the height of their potential. We believe in an education that produces life-long learners who are well-rounded, confident, successful leaders. We believe in an education that is not memorized, but experienced; an education that is intertwined with everyday life, not compartmentalized to a classroom and a desk. We believe in strong families with solid foundations. We want all of these things for our family and for yours, so we invite you to join us at Apogee TX High Plains.
